My Approach
As a therapist, I am dedicated to working together with you to help you become the best version of yourself. I will help you discover your unique strengths and guide you in building a fulfilling life. I believe that with willingness and active participation in and out of your therapy sessions, you can learn new ways of thinking and behaving that can lead to meaningful changes and personal growth.
I specialize in helping individuals who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, and major life transitions—whether it's changes in relationships, parenthood, or adjusting to college life. In your initial sessions, we'll take the time to explore what's going on and work together to create a personalized plan to develop effective skills for managing stress and overcoming obstacles. I use evidence-based treatment methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). What to expect for your first session…
In the first session, I will ask you some questions about your current struggles and what brings you to therapy at this time in your life. I will also ask about some of your history, which gives me a more holistic picture of your life. At the end of the session, I will work collaboratively with you to figure out therapy treatment goals including what interventions I think will be the most effective in our work together. Since therapy is a collaborative process, there is no place like the first session to start working together!
